Creating the RedBeam Database using the Seed Executable

Generally Caused By: Attaching RedBeam to Existing SQL Server

Step 1
Access through the RedBeam CD or your systems File Explorer – My Computer> C:>Program Files>RedBeam>(Asset Tracking, Inventory Tracking or Check In Check Out)
Step 2
Run the Seed executable from the server machine to create a new Database onto your existing server. In Asset Tracking, this will be named “RBAT55Seed.exe”. In Inventory Tracking and Check In / Check Out, this will be named “Seed.exe”
Step 3
Edit the value for Server to the correct server using the syntax:(Servername\Instance) and Type the database as MAIN if you have RedBeam Inventory Tracking or RedBeam Check In Check Out. If you have RedBeam Asset Tracking then name the database RBAT.
Step 4
After the package executes, make sure SQL Configuration Manager has the same protocols enabled for your Server instance (Start -> Programs -> Microsoft SQL Server 2005 -> Configuration Tools -> SQL Server Configuration Manager.

If you are still experiencing problems, please proceed to Step 6.
